Meet the Dedicated Pros Keeping Your Surfaces Strong

Michael Lewis: Owner & Operator

For Michael Lewis, construction isn’t just a career; it’s a heritage. His journey began years ago, standing alongside his father, building pre-fab cabin homes. He still vividly remembers the adventure of that very first garage build; the smell of the sawdust and the pride of creating something tangible from nothing.

In 1997, Michael traded wood for stone, diving headfirst into the asphalt and concrete industry. He didn’t start in an office; he started in the trenches. Beginning as a laborer and rising through the ranks to foreman, Michael spent years mastering heavy equipment, managing complex crews, and learning the grit required to get a job done right.

After helping launch and operate several successful asphalt companies, Michael embarked on his biggest adventure yet in 2023: opening Concrete & Asphalt 4 Colorado, based in Golden.

Michael founded the company to answer a growing need in the market: a contractor who values communication as much as the pour itself. He thrives on the “people” side of the business—meeting clients, walking sites, and educating customers on the “how” and “why” of proper maintenance. For Michael, it isn’t just about closing a deal; it’s about building a relationship, staying within budget, and doing what is right.

He brings that same passion to his team, dedicated to helping his employees turn a job into a fulfilling career path.

Off the Job Site: When he isn’t ensuring customer loyalty or estimating a new project, you can find Michael trying to lower his handicap on the golf course or cheering on a fast-paced hockey game. He is also an avid enthusiast of the unknown, enjoying deep dives into conspiracy theories. But above all else, his favorite adventure is simply spending time with his family.

Jace Gamble

As an estimator at Concrete & Asphalt 4 Colorado, I work closely with customers and internal teams to review sites, answer questions, and make sure each project starts on solid footing. I believe that good communication early on makes everything smoother once work is underway, and I take pride in being someone clients can rely on throughout the process.

Before stepping into estimating, I gained hands-on experience through home inspections and window installation, where accuracy, preparation, and attention to detail mattered every day. That background helped shape the way I approach projects now, with an eye for how plans translate into real-world conditions.

For me, the job is really about understanding what’s in front of me and helping people feel confident about what comes next. I enjoy the problem-solving side of estimating—walking a site, noticing details others might miss, and helping set clear expectations before work begins.

Outside of work, I like to stay active and unwind by going to the gym and playing/watching hockey. I also enjoy video games and watching tv shows and movies. I appreciate time spent learning new things, staying busy with friends and family, and enjoying life outside of the job, believing that balance is key to doing good work day in and day out.
